WAHSA Certified

wahsa-badge
WAHSA Certified is independent proof that a manufacturer, retailer, training provider or supplier meets WAHSA’s business management and technical standards for its category – not a self-declared claim.

Certification follows a formal audit against WAHSA’s published requirements and is renewed annually, so the mark reflects current practice rather than a one-off assessment from years ago.

Four categories are certified: Manufacturer, Retailer, Training Provider and Supplier, each assessed against its own technical requirements (see below).

What is WAHSA Certified?

WAHSA Certified is a recognised status showing an organisation has passed an audit covering both Business Management and category-specific Technical Requirements.

The technical audit varies by category and can include applicable standards, CE marking, and other regulatory requirements relevant to the organisation’s work.

Organisations that pass receive a WAHSA Certified certificate and may use the relevant WAHSA Certified logo, subject to WAHSA’s brand guidelines.

WAHSA Certified membership

£1,500 per year, with no application fee and no joining fee. The annual fee covers participation in the WAHSA Certified scheme and the certification process itself.

Maintaining your WAHSA Certified status

Certification is renewed annually, not granted once and forgotten. Certified organisations must declare significant changes to their business, products or services each year, and a further audit may be required if a change could affect compliance.

Status can be suspended or withdrawn if the scheme’s requirements are no longer met, and certification won’t be awarded or retained where non-conformances aren’t resolved.

An appeals process is available for organisations that want to challenge a certification decision.

WAHSA membership and WAHSA Certified status

These are two different things. WAHSA membership is open to manufacturers of work at height safety equipment; WAHSA Certified status is open to manufacturers, retailers, training providers and suppliers.

Manufacturer members automatically qualify as WAHSA Certified Manufacturers.

Organisations in the other three categories can become certified without being WAHSA members.

Certified organisations can attend relevant WAHSA meetings and contribute to industry discussions — but certification doesn’t carry WAHSA membership or voting rights.
